be willing to listen, serve, and represent the people from her district.

Laura Elliott has been reaching out to others throughout Morgan County for decades,
listening, serving, and being aware of needs and growth.
She is ready to represent the people from her district on County Council.

Laura Elliott started her first business at 17 years of age. She has influenced youth through her music studio, Licorice Stick Studios for over 20 years. She also works for Intelli-Leap: her family’s company specializing in cyber security, software & web development, as an office manager in charge of accounts, payroll, and taxes, as well as managing the Small Business Division. Laura Elliott helps manage and plans for the refurbishment of The Source: The Co-Work Space on the Square.

Laura Elliott has been an educator for Pre-K through 12 grade for over 30 years. She has taught in the public schools, in after school clinics, in her private pedagogy studio, and has home-schooled her children.

Since her youth, whether It was through Girl Scouts, sports, music groups, church, being a missionary or other extra curricular activities, Laura Elliott has always helped build her community.

For the past decade plus, Laura Elliott has coordinated the main fundraising events for the Morgan County Republican Party, volunteered her time working for polls, helped local, state, and federal candidates on campaigns, and served as a precinct and vice-precinct committee woman on the Morgan County Republican Central Committee.

Laura Elliott has also been building our community through heading up events like Rediscover Martinsville’s Adopt-A-Post, the Christmas Cookie Contest and the Cookie Stroll. She served on the Downtown Action Plan Committee to be a voice on the new Downtown design. Laura Elliott is a board member for Rediscover Martinsville’s board, and serves on the Old Town Waverly Park Festival board as well.

In Green Township, Laura Elliott is the Vice President of the Green Township Fire Board, where she is learning a lot about needed services and budget items.

At church, Laura Elliott heads up the entire children’s program with counselors, Sunday School teachers, Music Leaders, and bi-monthly Activity Leaders. She served as a BSA leader too. Laura Elliott has served in volunteer positions at church since the time I was 12 years old.

Laura Elliott says, “Helping others is always important to me, whether building our community for many or for the individual by bringing cookies or fresh bread to a friend or helping a neighbor weed their garden. I have always looked for ways to serve others. “
